Matt Hyland is an award-winning Production Designer & Art Director. His work began in Detroit with photography, documentary, and commercial production, and led to film & television after making the move to Chicago.
Matt won the Art Director’s Guild Award in 2024 for the series Reservation Dogs, alongside Production Designer & frequent collaborator Brandon Tonner-Connolly. He’s recently worked as the Co-Designer on Jane Schoenbrun’s Teenage Sex & Death At Camp Miasma, and Production Designer for Caleb Hearon & Kris Rey’s Trash Mountain.
Other credits include both The Lowdown and Deli Boys for Hulu/FX, Adam Salky’s Netflix thriller Intrusion, Amazon’s sci-fi series Night Sky, and Josh Ruben’s hit horror-comedy Werewolves Within.
He’s a proud member of the Art Director’s Guild (IATSE Local 800), Chicago Studio Mechanics (IATSE Local 476) and the Production Designer’s Collective. When Matt isn’t working, he’s taking pictures, writing, goofing off with his kids, and finally learning how to cook.
